Undermount Sinks for Laminate Countertops

Did you know an undermount sink is now an option for laminate countertops?

An undermount sink only increases the realism of granite and stone designs, such as our Calacatta Marble featured above.

One manufacturer, Karran, has an installation method that’s pretty straight forward and uses a specially designed adhesive to create a bond between the laminate and the sink so that moisture is never an issue.  View their YouTube channel to learn more about the process, as seen in the video below:

Paul Anater recently gave Formica and Karran some love in his Residential Kitchen Design blog as did Joe Freenor in CFT411.  Check out these posts and then be sure to subscribe!

Hello. I have designed 'box' for our new drop-in soaker tub. I want to use Formica to envelop the MDF top edge that fits under the tub lip and the two exposed sides. Has Formica been used in kind of application? The top edge is a half bull nose ensuring a 'tight' fit. Other than waterproofing the inside of the MDF are there other considerations to be made?
