Giving Retro Laminate Countertops An Edge

metal edge 300x225

A metal edge treatment adds an authentic retro flair to laminate countertops and tables.   A few good resources for metal edging include:

Also, a great blog for researching retro resources is Retro Renovation.  Pam Kueber wrote informative posts back in February and May about where to buy metal edging.

Does your laminate countertop have an edge?

I am really trying to fight the granite conspiracy. we are planning an offwhite shaker kitchen and I think black formica with a metal border would look fabulous. What I can't seem to find is an example of a 1-in brushed aluminum or stainless edge that does not have channels. Can anybody help? ALSO, need a fabricator in Westchester, NY THANKS

Thanks for reading Geoff -- and thanks for fighting the granite conspiracy! We can't offer any additional metal edge resources other than those listed in the blog post, but can provide direction regarding countertop fabrication. Surface Link fabricates laminate and has locations across the country. You can reach them at 800-482-1774 or http://www.surfacelinkcorp.com. Good luck and please send us pictures of your finished top!
